Folio. schoolbooks, in one place

Download schoolbooks, in your browser

One shelf for every textbook you own.

Folio turns the digital textbooks you already have — HUB Scuola, MyLim, DiBooK, bSmart and more — back into ordinary PDFs you keep for years. Everything is downloaded and assembled right here in the tab: your accounts live in an plaintext Cabinet on your own device, and nothing you type is uploaded anywhere.

Download in the browser, today

These platforms connect straight from the Reader. Drop in your token (or, for HUB, your email and password), pick your book, and Folio reassembles it into one PDF in your Downloads folder. Your credentials are kept in a plaintext Cabinet on your device, keyed by a passphrase only you know.

More platforms follow on the full shelf — the heavy crypto and rendered-page ones (Zanichelli, Pearson, Sanoma) are being ported to the same browser pipeline.

The docket

Most platforms wrap their copy with the same few tricks — AES encryption, HTML pages, SVG layers. Folio’s reader already handles each of those building blocks in-browser, so the rest of the shelf is a matter of wiring one backend after another.

  • Zanichelli — Kitaboo + BookTab backends
  • Pearson eText — device registration + RSA/AES
  • Sanoma · My Digital Book — SVG page books
  • Scuolabook, MEE2, Hoepli demo
  • Educadhoc (FR, Hachette) · WSET (UK, Kitaboo)
  • digi4school / scook (AT) · German publishers (Cornelsen, Klett, Westermann)
  • Oxford Learner’s Bookshelf (UK)
  • NCERT (IN, free official PDFs) · McGraw-Hill, RedShelf (US)

No downloader here is a mystery: they all share the same four building blocks — fetch pages, unlock, render, merge — and Folio does each of those four steps inside a browser tab.

Keep it small, keep it yours

Nothing to install

No app, no account with us, no waiting room. The Reader works on any modern desktop browser.

Nothing uploaded

Your token and password are sealed into a Cabinet on your own device with a passphrase only you know. What reaches the network is either an plaintext blob or a byte-for-byte relay to the platform you’re already logged into.

Nothing to pay

Free hosting, free bandwidth, open source. The site is a static page; the extra relay is a standard free Cloudflare tier.

How the Cabinet works
You set one passphrase. It never leaves this tab — the browser derives a key and seals your accounts, tokens and shelf into a single plaintext blob. That blob can be backed up to free storage on your behalf; without your passphrase it is unreadable. Lost passphrase means a sealed Cabinet — make a hint that only you understand.
